Helps families with homeownership within their community through a zero-mortgage program. Qualified families must show that they have a need for housing, are willing to partner, and are able to pay for a mortgage. A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) serves low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes. The work is done by volunteers who use donated materials whenever possible. The homeowner must meet certain qualifications for selection for ABWK including demonstrated need, willingness to partner, and ability to repay a no-interest loan.

Twin Oaks is more than a shelter, though that is indeed one of its many functions. Residents receive emergency housing for up to 60 days, in one of the shelter’s 12 units.
